Rented accommodation for Students can be a nightmare, so here at Thomas James, we try and make it an easy experience and can help you to find a place that even your Mum would approve of.

Here are our 3 Top Tips:

· To move in by August, you really need to be viewing by January or February, so you have plenty of time to sort out contracts, furniture, Deposits, and go through the approval and vetting process.

· Never agree to rent without seeing the house for yourself; and always use an accredited Letting Agent who manages the property for the Landlord, so that any problems or repairs can be dealt with fast, and you don’t end up without heating or hot water for a week.

· Go through the Contract and the Inventory carefully with your letting Agent, so you know who is liable to pay what, and what would happen if one of you moves out before the end of the term. Getting a cheap Contents Insurance can cover you for any damage, and is always cheaper than losing half of your deposit.

Just ask us for our Special Students Property Guide, which is full of useful info that will help you to find your perfect property, but don’t leave it too long as they are usually all Let by March/April time.
