Boyd has lived in the village of Calverton since 2002 with his wife and two children, and was born and raised in north Nottinghamshire. Before joining Thomas James in December 2017, he and his family ran a successful catering business in Nottingham city centre. Boyd is passionate about working where he lives, and he is very well known in the area, partly due to his role as a County and Borough Councillor. He has extensive knowledge of the demographics and housing requirements for the locality. Outside of work, Boyd enjoys rugby union, and he is an active member of Paviors RFC where he coaches and referees all ages. Boyd also enjoys restoring vintage tractors and is a real ale enthusiast.
